Certificate in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector Assessor Route (CTLLS) (36 credits)

Bright are based in the heart of the UK but don’t worry – All training is delivered via online learning so you can complete our courses from anywhere in the world…

Brand New to Bright Assessing – CTLLS Level 4 (Assessor Route)

About the course

The CTLLS qualification is required for those carrying out an Associate Teacher Role. An associate teaching role means a teaching role that carries significantly less responsibilities ordinarily carried out in a full teaching role such as curriculum development. Bright now offers the CTLLS Assessor route, also giving you the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement.

Bright has created this course due to the similarity in units – you will achieve 2 qualifications for very little extra work. Qualified Assessors are in high demand at the moment and having this certificate will increase your employability as a teacher. If you are working at or aiming for full teacher role, you will need to complete the full DTLLS diploma.

Entry Requirements

You must be aged 19 or over and have sound literacy and numeracy skills. You also need access to 30 hours teaching.
Unlike other training providers, our CTLLS  teaching course fees are all inclusive with no hidden costs for things like travel and observations. Bright provide everything you need to qualify.

Course Structure

There are 8 elements, including PTLLS:

For the practical part of the CTLLS Course you must be able to provide evidence of 30 teaching hours, 3 of these hours will be observed by your mentor if required. You will then also complete practical assessments on 2 candidates, provided by Bright Assessing.

CTLLS Level 4 (Assessor Route), is worth 36 credits.

Course Delivery

All Bright learners are allocated with a mentor who guides you through the course, providing feedback and completing observations if necessary.  The course is delivered through an online learning course (Moodle), consisting of virtual lessons, reading, questions and activities. Each module is covering a different aspect of the course and includes activities.  At the end of each unit there are specified assignments to complete, which are marked and internally moderated.

You will provide a reflective journal on 30 teaching hours, 3 of these will be observed, you will also be required to complete a micro teach session and practical assessments of 2 candidates.

Progression Routes

Once you have completed CTLLS training course, you can apply for Associate Teacher Status (ATLS), many learners go on to complete the full Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector (DTLLS), which will enable you to be employed in a Full Teacher role and apply for Qualified Teacher Status (QTLS).

Course Length

The total Guided Learning Hours for the CTLLS course is 120 plus 30 hours teaching. The course, although done at your own pace, takes most Bright learners just 3-6 months however this is dependent on how quickly you can obtain the required teaching evidence.
